Why FarmShed Exists
Across Kenya, land is increasingly owned by people who are busy elsewhere — professionals, people building careers in the cities, and many who, at the end of formal employment, find themselves farmers almost by default. They have the land, but not always the time, the skills, or a reliable place to turn to for sound agronomic advice.
The result is painfully common: good land underperforming, enterprises run without expertise, and avoidable losses of crops, livestock and income. Meanwhile, the very people who could turn this around — skilled agronomists, equipment owners, willing farmhands — often struggle to be found by the farmers who need them.
FarmShed was built to close that gap. The name says it plainly: a shed is shelter. FarmShed is the shade under which every part of the farming chain comes together — so expertise, machinery and labour reach the land that needs them, reliably and with trust built in.
And just as importantly, it puts help close to home. Much like the apps that connect you to a ride or a place to stay nearby, FarmShed uses your location to show you verified agronomists, equipment providers and farmhands in your own area first — ranked by how close they are.
